Narcotics, ammo and bulletproof vests seized in Western Division

Officers of the Western Division Task Force seized narcotics, ammunition and bulletproof vests during an exercise yesterday.

Between the hours of noon and 7pm on 28th October, 2023, officers of the Western Division Task Force conducted an anti-crime exercise in the division. The exercise focused on Bougainvillea Street, Maraval, Church Street, Petit Valley and Tomato Trace, Diego Martin. During the exercise, the officers found and seized 2509 grams of marijuana at Tomato Trace, Diego Martin.

Acting on further information, they proceeded to Cherry Blossom Drive, Diego Martin, where a search was conducted of a derelict vehicle, which was parked at the side of the roadway. The search unearthed two bulletproof vests, 160 rounds of assorted ammunition and seven magazines, which were found in the trunk of the vehicle. The items were seized and enquiries are continuing into the find.

This exercise was sanctioned by ACP Maharaj, coordinated by Senior Superintendent (Ag.) Henry and Superintendent Williams, and was spearheaded by Assistant Superintendent, Gyan and Inspector (ag) Grant, and supervised by Corporal Dominque and Corporal Edwards.
