The search is on for four suspects, who sexually assaulted a woman and beat her husband with a hammer during a home invasion in south Trinidad on Saturday.
Reports are that around 1.15 a.m. the couple, who are both farmers, were awakened to the sounds of man shouting “Police! Open the door!”
They then heard the sound of something smashing and saw the men, all decked in dark clothing and bandanas in their house.
One suspect beat the husband with a hammer, then bound his hands and feet.
The man’s wife was then shoved into a bedroom where she was raped by all of the men.
The suspects then made off with a number of electronic items and a quantity of jewellery.
Three goats valued at $3,300 and six ducks valued $900, were also taken, along with the couple’s car, which the men used to escape in.
