A geotechnical investigation has been completed and its findings submitted to the Programme for Upgrading Roads Efficiency Unit to carry out permanent work at the collapsed roadways and multiple landslides leading to communities in the Gran Couva area.
In the interim alternate access is available through Rachasingh Trace.
Patch work is also taking place along the road way to give the public a more comfortable commute.
Minister in the Ministry of Works and Transport, Rishi Sookai, gave the information during the question and answer period in the Senate Friday.
The PURE Unit is working on a design and on completion it will invite tenders for the project.
