Woman found dead inside smoking vehicle

A 42-year-old Cunupia woman was found dead inside her partially burning vehicle on Saturday night.

The victim is Sherry Ann Candice Joseph-Jemmott – a hairdresser of Welcome Road, Esperanza, Cunupia.

Reports are that police responded to a call around 10pm, of a vehicle on fire at Almond Drive, Farm Road, in the Carlsen Field area.

Upon reaching the scene, they found a silver Nissan Tiida smoking on the inside.

On closer inspection, the officers saw Joseph-Jemmot’s body seated in the driver’s seat with flames around her.
The woman was unresponsive and motionless.

When the flame subsided officers noticed that Joseph-Jemmott’s clothing was doused with a liquid believed to be kerosene and an empty jar of pills was found on the front passenger seat.

A box of matches and a wet roll of paper towels were also found.

The keys were in the ignition and the vehicle was parked in a remote area in the middle of the roadway.
