4 men shot and wounded in San Fernando

Police are trying to determine the motive behind the shooting of four men in San Fernando on Monday night.

The victims, who are now warded at the San Fernando General Hospital, have been identified as 37-year-old Adrian Calliste of South Oropouche, 39-year-old Dillon Thompson of Santa Flora, and Sherene Khan, 39, and Kareen Willson, 25, of San Fernando.

Around 7.30 pm, the four were at Johnstone Street, San Fernando, when a white Hyundai Elanta vehicle with heavily-tinted windows pulled up and the male driver asked Khan – a CD vendor, for a dancehall CD.

The suspect then pulled out a firearm and opened fire on Khan and those nearby, before driving off.

Calliste was hit in the left leg, Khan was grazed on his right arm, Wilson was shot in the abdomen and Thompson was shot in the left leg.

Officers of the San Fernando CID, Southern Division Task Force, Emergency Response Patrol and Municipal Police responded to the crime scene and found 10 nine-millimetre spent shells at the scene.

The four were rushed to hospital and are said to be in stable condition.

Investigations are continuing.
