Police are seeking assistance in identifying the decomposing body of a woman, which was found in Sangre Grande on Wednesday morning.
Residents of Rose Avenue Extension told police that they had been getting a foul stench from a nearby apartment over the last few days.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered the decomposing body of an unidentified female.
The body was in an advanced stage of decomposition.
A post-mortem will take place once the deceased has been identified.
Anyone with information which could lead to the identification of the deceased is asked to contact the Sangre Grande police station.
