A 45-year-old mechanic is warded in critical condition at the San Fernando General Hospital, after he was shot while at his garage in Phillipine, Debe on Friday.
The victim, Richard Rajkumar, is the brother of kidnap victim Ria Sookdeo.
Reports state that Rajkumar was speaking to a customer in front of his business Richard and Sons along Sir Lamond Ave around 4:15 pm, when a black Nissan Tiida pulled up.
The front seat occupant, who was armed, stepped out and fired several shot at him.
His uncle rushed him to the San Fernando General Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery. Rajkumar’s sister was kidnapped on September 22, 2016, by men minutes after she dropped her children off at their primary school in Diamond Village, San Fernando.
She has never been found.
