The 21-year-old woman who was arrested after she attempted to smuggle cocaine in men’s shoes was granted bail.
Germaine Sorzano of Lyons Gate, Chaguanas appeared before a magistrate this week charged with possession.
Last week, based on a tip, officers visited a shipping company in Woodbrook.
During a search of the establishment, they found 65.64 grammes of cocaine hidden in two pairs of men’s dress shoes, which were to be shipped to the UK. Police said the estimated street value of the cocaine was $91,500.
Sorzano was arrested and remanded into custody.
She was granted bail in the sum of $175,000.
