Warner said in spite of his reservations, he’s standing by fellow judges in Miss Grand TT decision

With furor still swirling around Venezuelan national Mileidy Materano being crowned the winner of the Miss Grand T&T pageant, one of the judges, Jack Warner, has admitted his discomfort with the outcome.

In a GML report, he admitted that he had and still has reservations about a foreigner representing this country on an international stage.

The organisers of the event, Stolen Productions Limited are standing by the decision to select Materano as winner of the competition.

Warner said he had articulated his reservations to his fellow judges over selecting a foreigner during Sunday’s final. However, he said he is standing by the decision as a member of the panel of judges.

“I do not believe that a foreigner could represent the country but I was part of a team and I subscribe to what they agreed upon. It is what it is,” Warner said.
