US$345m deposited into HSF for 2022 says Finance Minister

US$345 million ($2.35 billion) has been deposited into the Heritage and Stabilisation Fund (HSF) for 2022.

This was revealed by Finance Minister Colm Imbert.

In a Twitter post on Thursday, Imbert said that the Government deposited US$182 million ($1.2 billion) in the HSF last Friday, preserving wealth for future generations in Trinidad and Tobago.

Imbert said the money came from higher than-estimated revenues from petroleum.

During his budget presentation in September, he said as a result of higher-than-expected oil and gas prices, the Government deposited US$163 million ($1.1 billion).

At the end of June 2022, which is the last quarterly report of the HSF on the website of the Ministry of Finance the total value of the Fund was US$4.77 billion.
