MoH still considering the use of tracking devices

The Ministry of Health is still weighing the option of using electronic tracking devices for those being placed under quarantine for Covid19.

Health Minister, Terrence Deyalsingh said the ministry is observing the implementation of the device in other Caribbean territories and will make a definitive policy soon.

He said “The final decision to do that in TT is a decision we’d have to make between the Ministry of Health, the Attorney General and the Minister of National Security.”

Deyalsingh noted “That (the tracking) would have to be at the discretion of the person.  It is not mandatory because of our constitution and our right to privacy.”
