The United National Congress has selected Khemraj Sunil Seecharan as the UNC Candidate in the Debe South bye-election to be held on February 7th, 2022.
According to a release from the party, Seecharan was born and raised in Debe South. He is an enterprising and determined young man with a passion for people, community and culture, coming from a family that was always involved in community building and development.
He was the founding Chairman of the Penal Debe Foundation – a nationally recognised NGO advocating for Disaster Mitigation and championing disaster and community relief. Khemraj’s mantra is “Together We Can.”
Seecharan, they said, is committed to providing Debe South with proper representation after having been denied representation by this dictatorial PNM government for almost one full year, following the death of Mr Purshottam Singh. Seecharan recognises the contributions of late councillor Singh and will continue the good work started under his tenure.
The UNC said it stands ready and prepared for this bye-election.
