Two men have been arrested and are assisting the Pinto Police in their investigations of a firearm discovery and robberies in the district.
Pinto Police Post officers conducted an exercise on 17th October, 2020, the exercise was supervised by Sgt. Leopold along with W/Cpl Pustam.
Based on information received from one of the suspects the officers were directed to a bushy area off Hoyte Avenue where the suspect pointed out the hiding place of a revolver containing four rounds of ammunition.
The items were retrieved and taken to the police post for processing.
The two men, age 25, of Sandstone Extension, Demerara Road Wallerfield and Ackbaralli Trace, Malabar, have been arrested and is currently assisting the police with several reports of robberies in the Pinto district and other related offences.
Enquiries are continuing.
