T&T Deaths per million tops India according to John Hopkins University data

A data set of graphs compiled from John Hopkins University dataset puts Trinidad and Tobago’s deaths per million ahead of India, France, the US, UK and Germany, as of May 11th. Trinidad and Tobago has seen significant increases in infections and deaths in the past few weeks.

The data set gives T&T a score of 3.98, India 2.90 and France 3.27 .

The country which was doing relatively well in managing the pandemic in 2020 has seen an increase in infections and deaths post the Easter weekend, with many speculating that the population dropped it’s guard regarding covid 19 precautions.

The latest report from the Ministry of Health today alone , taken from samples in the past five days identified 615 new positive cases and 11 deaths.
