Trinidad And Tobago Coast Guard Assists Vessel In Distress Off The Coast Of Toco.

Crew members on board a cabin cruiser named “Bounty Hunter” are safely towed back to its last port of call in Scarborough, Tobago by the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard.

In a media release the TTCG said at 3:25pm on August 18th 2021, it received a report from North Post Radio which indicated they had received information of a vessel which was in distress.

The release said the vessel had been sighted signaling with orange smoke, an international distress signal, by another vessel called “Cape Hope”.

A TTCG capital asset was tasked to render assistance to the vessel in distress.

The Coast Guard said the vessel was located twenty-one Nautical Miles South-East of Toco.

The TTCG is thanking the crew members of “Cape Hope”, the initial reporting source, for ensuring the safety of the crew members aboard the “Bounty Hunter”.
