The T&T Chamber welcomes the signing of the Guyana – T&T MOU

The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce says it welcomes the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the Governments of Guyana and T&T, noting that it is a significant step forward for trade and investment relations between the two countries and CARICOM as a whole.

It said The MOU, which is targeted at agriculture, food security, energy, education, national security and tourism, comes at a critical time when the world is facing threats to global supply chains, extreme weather events, security issues and rising costs of living.

It maintained one of the major pain points that must be addressed is non-tariff barriers (NTBs).

To this end, the Chamber welcomes an assessment of identified NTBs and looks forward to the findings as there is movement towards the realization of the objectives of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.
