One man has been arrested in connection with a report of suspected setting fire to a house at Second Caledonia Extension, Morvant, on July 12th ,2023.
The suspect, also of Second Caledonia, Morvant, was arrested by a team of officers of the North Eastern Division following extensive investigations into the matter.
He is expected to be charged with two counts of setting fire to a dwelling house with a person therein, following advice received from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, on July 18th , 2023.
A female victim reported that on July 12th this year she observed a group of men, some of whom were allegedly armed with guns, charge onto her premises and attempt to gain entry to the house.
She alleges she heard several loud explosions and observed the house on fire.
The men then made good their escape.
Acting on intelligence received, one male suspect was held on July 13th ,2023 in connection with the matter.
Enquiries are ongoing into the matter.
