A one year old baby is warded in stable condition at hospital, after the child was hit by a stray bullet in El Socorro on Monday night.

The child’s father reported to police that around 9:50pm, he was in the yard supervising his two other children who were playing, while the mother was in the kitchen.

Several gunshots were then heard and the baby started crying.

On checking, they discovered the baby bleeding.

The child was rushed to hospital where doctors found that the child was shot in the thigh and the bullet exited through the buttocks.

The baby was treated and is in stable condition.
