Fire guts Princes Town home leaving security guard homeless

Princes Town police and fire officials are investigating a fire, which completely gutted a house, leaving a man homeless.

Carlon Silverton, a security guard of St Croix Road, said he was at work when he received a call from the owner of the house, that flames were seen coming from the three-bedroom concrete house, and the fire service and police were alerted.

He was told that within minutes the house and household articles were destroyed.

Silverton’s pet dog, Sparky, died in the fire, while his other dog, Frisky, got away.

Silverton said he was still trying to process what happened and did not know where he would be staying.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
