Negligence of duty and discreditable conduct are cited as the two prevalent charges being brought against police officers who come before the Complaints Division and the Professional Standards.

Women Inspector Leslie Ann Aguilleria-Homer, highlighted this development while speaking at a news briefing held by the TTPS at the Solomon Mc Leod Lecture Theatre, Fifth Floor, Police Administration Building, Corner Edward and Sackville Streets, Port-of-Spain on Friday.

Inspector Aguilleria Homer said at present there are over hundred matters now before the tribunals and seven officers have been convicted so far.

Acting women Corporal, Dane-Marie Marshall, of the Professional Standards Bureau, said so far this year twenty reports have been made against police officers.
