Senior police officers knew about slavery ring, did not intervene

Senior police officers were said to have knowledge about the slavery ring that was shut down early this morning.

Police Commissioner Gary Griffith confirmed that officers visited the institution, Transformed Life Ministries, in Arouca a few months ago but did not conduct a full investigation.

Public Information Officer and ASP Wayne Mystar said an investigation has been launched into the officers’ involvement. During the TTPS’ press briefing this morning, Mystar said that he could not confirm what disciplinary actions would be taken against the officers.

In a press release issued by the TTPS earlier this morning, the senior officers will be investigated for possible negligence of duties.
