SATT President Assures Food Prices Will Get Better, Eventually

Consumers are fearful that soon they will be unable to afford basic food items.

This as food prices continue to increase.

Similar sentiments were expressed by Minister of Trade and Industry Paula Gopee-Scoon recently, even as she pointed out that prices of some commodities have been trending downward globally.

Speaking with News Power Now, President of the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago, Rajiv Diptee also pointed to the challenges being faced by the sector as he described it as this country inheriting inflation its foreign suppliers.

The SATT President went on to state that, locally, delays at the nations ports has contributed to the hardships being experienced.

However, Mr Diptee is assuring that things will get better, eventually.
