Eight Police Officers Arrested Amid FUL Probe

Eight police officers have been detained in connection with the ongoing Firearm Users License investigation.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, confirming the information, said the investigation is currently underway and further information will be shared as it becomes available.

In December 2021, National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds announced that a six-member team, comprising of three former police officers, will conduct an audit of the firearms, ammunition and other aspects of the FUL issued in the past three years.

In September 2022, two officers were arrested and charged as part of the probe.
