Shoppers flooded stores and supermarkets to take advantage of Boxing Day sales against a backdrop a Covid spike in infections and deaths and an increase in the number of Omicron cases in T&T.
Members of the public responded en masse to take advantage of the discounts being offered after Christmas sales.
Speaking with Power 102 Digital this morning, President of the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago Rajiv Diptee stated that they were aware of the large crowds that turned up as videos had surfaced and shared widely on social media.
He said that on the business side all was done to observe Covid guidelines.
He urged shoppers to observe all Covid protocols going forward.
