Sanitation Worker Granted Leave For Judicial Review Against The THA Over Promotion And Compensation.

Mervin Winchester, a sanitation worker of Louis Dor Land Settlement, Louis Dor, Tobago, has been granted leave for judicial review against the Tobago House of Assembly in his claims for promotion and compensation.

In an application filed last month in the High Court of Justice, by his Attorneys Martin George and Company, it was claimed that Winchester has been consistently overlooked for promotion by the THA for several years.

He claimed as a result he suffered financial losses and other promotional and career advancement opportunities.

Winchester named three of his juniors who were all promoted ahead and above him and he said by letter dated November 28th, 2016 the THA acknowledged its error in promoting persons ahead of him and promised compensation.
