Sangre Grande man arrested with pump action shotgun

A 42-year-old man is currently assisting officers with their investigation into the discovery of a firearm and ammunition.

Officers of Sangre Grande and the Eastern Division Task Force conducted a raid and search exercise on Monday evening during the period 7 pm and 10 pm.

Three search warrants were issued in the Fishing Pond area for illegal firearms and ammunition.
During the search at the home of a 42-year-old man, of Five and a Half Mile Mark Fishing Pond Road, Sangre Grande, a Mossberg 12-gauge pump action shotgun and 10 rounds of 12-gauge cartridges, along with three spent 12-gauge cartridges were found on the premise and seized.

The occupant of the house is not the holder of a Firearms Users License and as such was arrested and taken to the station pending further investigation.
Charges are expected.
