Incumbent UK Prime Minister Liz Truss has given a farewell speech after chairing cabinet for the final time as prime minister.
The shortest-serving PM in UK history will then go to see the King at Buckingham Palace to formally give him her resignation.
Incoming PM Rishi Sunak will then also go to meet King Charles, who will invite him to form the next government
Sunak will be UK’s third leader in seven weeks after winning a party leadership contest triggered by Truss stepping down.
