Rambally: Resignation of two Senior Counsel a blistering indictment on ‘NelsonGate’

Chaguanas West MP, Dinesh Rambally said the Attorney General’s announcement that Gilbert Peterson SC and Douglas Mendes SC, have tendered their resignation from the civil proceedings involving Vincent Nelson is long overdue and further proves that ‘NelsonGate is the worst scandal in the history of our nation.

He said the resignation of the two Senior Counsel from these proceedings is a blistering indictment on this entire sordid affair.

Rambally added that; “Never in the history of our Republic have two Senior Counsel removed themselves from representing the State in legal proceedings. No doubt taxpayers will not be further burdened with wasted legal costs.

He said it is unfortunate that while these Attorneys at Law decided to resign, the political architect behind this scandal, Mr Faris AL-Rawi and Attorney General Armour remains in public office.
