Police are investigating an incident in which an inmate of the Port of Spain Prison on Frederick Street, was stabbed by his cellmate.
Reports state that the incident took place on Sunday 20th May, at approximately 8:45 a.m., while the victim was in a cell with four other inmates, when there was a fight.
Prisons officers, responding to the incident, discovered one of the prisoners bleeding from several stab wounds.
A makeshift weapon, used in the attack, was found at the scene by prison officers.
The injured prisoner was treated and taken to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where he’s listed in a critical condition
