Prime Minister Rowley Cites Witness Tampering Following Video Recording By THA Chief Sec On Whistle Blower

Witness tampering is how Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, describes comments by the Tobago House Assembly Chief Secretary, Farley Augustine, on Thursday relating to a video played during a Special Sitting revealing statements made by a whistle blower.

Dr Rowley is of the view the whistle blower who was contacted by the police provided information and the Chief Secretary giving details on the matter is cause for concern.

The Prime Minister was a the time speaking during the weekly post cabinet news briefing held at the Diplomatic Centre, St Ann’s.

He denied using his position to influence the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service on how to conduct its work adding he is prepared to resign from the post if evidence can be brought to contradict his position relating to this development.

Dr Rowley said he has instructed the Attorney General to take charge of the matter.
