Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, visits the Housing Development Corporation community of Ridge View Heights in Bon Air North, Arouca, Tuesday to view the current state of construction of new housing units and to assess other related matters.
The HDC Corporate Communications Department said Dr Rowley also visited Thomas and Lopinot Roads in Lower Arouca to assess the flooding issues in the area.
The Prime Minister recommended an inter-agency collaborative approach with the HDC, the Ministry of Works and Transport Drainage Division, Water and Sewerage Authority, Town and Country Planning and the respective regional corporation to effectively address these problems.
At the Ridgeview Heights site, one hundred and fifty units were completed and handed over to the HDC with two hundred and four apartments, duplexes and townhouses housing units currently under construction.
When completed, the HDC will provide suitable subsidized housing for three hundred and fifty-four families and individuals on the public housing database.
Dr Rowley was accompanied by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Pennelope Beckles; Minister of Public Utilities and Member of Parliament for Lopinot/Bon Air West, Marvin Gonzales; Minister in Ministry, Adrian Leonce; HDC Chairman, Noel Garcia; HDC Managing Director, Jayselle McFarlane, and other HDC senior officials.
