Preparations On Course For Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games

The Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth Games Association is set to raise the curtains on the 7th edition of the Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games, this according to Commonwealth Games Federation, Youth Commonwealth Lead for the Trinbago 2023 Games, Annie Hairsine.

With less than 25 days to go the Local Organizing Committee is well on the way with its final preparations for the games.

The leadership of the Trinidad and Tobago Commonwealth Games Association is headed by Ms. Diane Henderson and the Local Organizing Committee, headed by Mr. Douglas Camacho and Mr. Ephraim Serrette, have shown why the Commonwealth Games federation has selected Trinidad and Tobago to host the 7th edition of the CYG.

The official mascot Cocoyea, a leatherback turtle, made its first public appearance at the National Cycling Velodrome in Couva, dancing to the Games anthem “Stay Ready” by Freetown Collective to mark the launch of the ticketing programme.

The song will be present across the Games, and features inspiring lyrics which will speak to the young athletes taking part at Trinbago 2023.

It will also be shared on streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music.

The event also revealed the major sponsors of the Trinbago 2023 Games.

Minister of Sport and Community Development, Shamfa Cudjoe, who was in attendance expressed her gratitude to both the Local Organizing Committee and the TTCGA for the groundwork that was done within the 11-month period.

Tickets are FREE for all children under 18, for all events, to ensure that Trinbago Youth can come out to support their local and International peers. U18s tickets are available through the ticketing platform.

With the games fast approaching, the public is encouraged to come out and support not only Trinidad and Tobago athletes but all 71 commonwealth nations who will be participating across Trinidad and Tobago as we create an inspiring atmosphere for the young athletes from across the Commonwealth.
