Port of Spain South MP Keith Scotland says he is sorry for his coal pots and bike comments made a few days ago in Parliament.
In an interview with the Sunday Express MP Scotland said he is hurt and sadden by the comments, adding that it was not his intention to “belittle or demean anybody.”
“I did not mean for the people of T&T to go back to coal pots, especially Port of Spain South,”
Several memes were created and made its rounds on social media about Scotland, after his comments in Parliament suggesting citizens should invest in a coal pot if they can’t afford gas and he would be open to riding a bicycle to work in an effort to save on fuel.
