Game Warden charged with sexual penetration of a minor

A 56-year-old Belmont man, charged with four counts of sexual penetration, appeared before Justice of the Peace Ibrahim Ali at the Port-of-Spain Magistrates’ Seventh Court, today, Monday 15th March, 2021.

The matter was adjourned to Wednesday 14th April 2021, where the accused is due to appear at the Port-of-Spain Seventh Magistrates’ Court.

The accused, a game warden, was previously granted station bail with a surety in the sum of $300,000 to cover all four charges on Sunday 14th March, 2021. He was arrested in relation to an incident where a 13-year-old girl reported to police that around 1 am on Saturday 13th March, 2021, whilst at home, the accused allegedly had sexual intercourse with her against her will. The girl also alleged that the accused also inserted his finger into her vagina on several occasions during the period January 2021 to March, 2021.

Investigations were supervised by Ag /Insp Lopez, Sgt Andrews and Sgt David and conducted by PC Fredericks of the POS Division of the Child Protection Unit.
