Two men were arrested last night following a high speed chase with police officers on patrol in the Arouca area.
Officers report that they were on patrol around 11:15 pm when they saw a white Nissan Wingroad driving on Thomas Street, Arouca.
The drivers of the Wingroad on seeing the police car, sped off, and a chase ensued.
The Wingroad however eventually ran off the road near the Priority Bus Route.
Three men got out of the crashed car and ran, but police were able to catch two of the three men.
A Smith and Wesson revolver with three rounds of .38 ammunition were found in the car.
The men ages 21 and 27, from Arouca were arrested and are expected to be interviewed by investigators today.
Police said the Wingroad driven by the men had false license plates, as checks revealed the plates were registered to a Toyota RAV4.
