PM Rowley Remains Guarded On Details Surrounding Dragon Gas Deal

Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, says he is not in position to give a timeline as to when negotiations will be completed between Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela concerning the Dragon Gas Deal.

Dr Rowley was asked in the parliament, on Friday, if the Government of Venezuela has agreed with or will facilitate the terms set out by the Government of the United States of America’s license to monetise the Dragon Gas field.

In his response, Dr Rowley made it clear discussions in this area have started and is on-going with the Venezuelan Government.

However, the Prime Minister said there is a level on confidentiality that is required at this stage.

Prime Minister Rowley said the terms of the license apply and the public will be informed accordingly when the government is in a position to give a further update.
