Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has expressed concern with members of the population who are unvaccinated and exposed to contracting the Delta Variant.
He says there could be cases undetected by the strict protocols which have so far identified the strain in five returning nationals.
The Prime Minister made the comments during the commissioning of the Malabar Government Primary School on Thursday.
On Wednesday night the Health Ministry confirmed two additional cases of the Delta Variant, bringing the total number of cases to five to date.
The Ministry noted all five patients were nationals who returned from abroad who provided negative PCR tests provided seventy two hours prior to arrival.
However they tested positive for the Delta Variant while they were in state quarantine after their arrival.
