Several communities in Penal and Debe are facing the worst floods seen in years.
This is according to chairman of the Regional Corporation, Dr Allen Sammy.
Speaking with News Power Now, Dr Sammy said the water in many of the flooded areas is yet to recede.
This, he says, is hampering clean-up and relief efforts.
He revealed that more than 100 requests for assistance have been received.
Dr Sammy said if the water levels persist and there is additional rainfall as expected, the army may have to be called in for additional assistance.
