PDP Desire To Contest The Next General Election In Trinidad Described As Interesting

The Progressive Democratic Patriots intension to participate in the next general election in Trinidad and even the upcoming local government election is being described as very interesting by the Minority Leader of the Tobago House of Assembly, Kelvon Morris.

Mr Morris said his comment is based on previous remarks made by now Deputy THA Leader, Watson Duke, which indicated there was need for the sister isle to seriously consider lessening its reliance on Trinidad.

Mr Duke has complained about the relationship over the years between the Trinidad and Tobago.

The government has said internal self-governance for Tobago has been high on its agenda and has been doing the necessary ground work to ensure this happens.

Speaking on Power 102 Digital’s Afternoon Drive Programme on Thursday, Mr Morris said Mr Duke’s position now is a very interesting one based on earlier comments he would have made with respect to how the PDP plans to carry out its affairs.

Mr Morris said from earlier remarks made by Mr Duke he had never fashioned the PDP as a national political party but one which was more concerned about ensuring Tobago’s interest.
