The Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union (OWTU) is urging patience to the people of Trinidad and Tobago as it acknowledged there is “ongoing anxiety” surrounding the award of it’s successful bid to purchase the Petrotrin refinery.

In a statement issued yesterday:

“The OWTU fully appreciates the ongoing anxiety surrounding the Petrotrin refinery, an asset that belongs to the people of Trinidad and Tobago. That said, the OWTU asks the population to be patient and allow the process to take its course. This union has been at the forefront of insisting on transparency and exposing corruption at Petrotrin. These efforts have transcended administrations. We remain committed to transparently seeking out and doing what will serve the best interests of our T&T,”
