Oil spill in Fyzabad; Heritage Petroleum conducting mop-up operations

An oil spill at Massahood Junction in Fyzabad has led to a number of persons being evacuated from their home.

Reports state that a total of three families were removed from their homes by Heritage Petroleum, after a pipeline ruptured around 6:30 pm on Sunday, sending thick oil gushing through the drains and flowing into properties.

Heritage Petroleum relocated the families to Paria Suites Hotel in La Romaine, where they stayed overnight while the company started mop-up operations.
