Normalcy Returns To Mt Hope Hospital After Transformer Failure

Normalcy has returned to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

This after a transformer had undergone some recent works failed at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex.

The incident occurred on July 10th 2023 around midday.

North Central Regional Authority said the team worked throughout the night and the situation was remedied at 4:35 am today with supply transferred to another transformer.

According to Chief Executive Officer,  Davlin Thomas, the NCRHA Incident Response Team, EWMSC engineering staff and with the support of Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission responded to transfer supply to a contingency electrical transformer.

Mr Thomas said the Authority load shed all non-essential and non-critical services to mitigate against any problems in emergency areas and subsequently transferred all critical Intensive Care Unit patients to the Arima Hospital.
