The Manufacturer’s Association is unable to say exactly what the increase in fuel prices will mean for local manufacturers and the price of their goods.
Association CEO, Dr Mahindra Ramdeen, speaking with News Power Now, revealed that a feasibility study is underway to determine the impact of the price increase on members.
However he explained that there is no way to determine a blanket impact on the cost of manufacturing as it may vary according to sector.
Dr Ramdeen revealed that the Association believed a phased approach would have been the better option.
