Britain has announced new sanctions in response to what it described as Russia’s “sham” referendums in four occupied regions of Ukraine.
In a statement the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said the Russian regime has organised these referendums in a attempt to grab land and justify their illegal war.
The Development Office said these referendums do not represent the demonstrated will of the Ukrainian people.
It claimed the referendums are a severe violation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and political independence.
The FCDO said the measures will specifically target individuals behind the votes in Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk and Zaporizhia on whether to join Russia.
