No water for Laventille and Environs; mechanical problem at Picton 2

Parts of Laventille and environs are currently experiencing an interruption in their water supply.

According to an advisory from the Water and Sewerage Authority, a mechanical problem at the Picton 2 Booster Station is the reason for the service interruption, and emergency repair works currently are underway.

WASA expects to have the repairs completed by 6:00 pm today, Thursday 10th December 2020.

The Authority assures that a limited truck borne service will be available to affected customers upon request.

It also reminds customers that it may take up to 24 hours for the pipe borne water supply to normalize to some areas after the facility returns to operation.

Areas affected include:

Upper Picton Road, Upper Prizgar Lands, Despers Drive, Richardson Lane, Quarry Street, St. John Street, Laventille Road, Upper St. Barbs, Upper St. Francois Valley Road, Upper Belmont Valley Road, Layan Hill, China Town, Durant Street, Mc Kai Road, Belle Eau Road, Gonzales, Red Hill, Pump Trace.
