The Judiciary has advised that in-person activities at the Family Court – North, located at #4 Cipriani Boulevard, Port of Spain have been suspended temporarily.
This is to facilitate sanitisation of the building.
No one will be allowed into the building until sanitisation has been completed.
Vacating the building is a precautionary measure in keeping wit Covid-19 safety protocols.
While no one assigned to this court building has been confirmed as Covid-19 positive, the current course of action is required to investigate the Covid-19 status of an officer.
The sanitisation of the facility will be conducted as required and there shall be no in-person hearings or activities. Attention is also drawn to the Judiciary’s Practice Direction No. 9 of December 1, 2020, which has dealt with the general discontinuation of in-person hearings except in limited circumstances.
