The new Sangre-Grande Hospital Campus cost tax payers 850 million TT dollars.
There are 160 beds.
It was official declared opening today.
Over the next two months the hospital will be operational on phased basis starting with a tour for staff members on April 19th.
Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, revealed the hospital will be using digitalised records of patients to help improve its information system.
