NBA’s LeBron James to Branch Out Into Music?

American Basketball star LeBron James has teased the possibility of releasing an album.

The current Los Angeles Lakers small forward revealed his plan on Twitter – with fans affectionately nicknaming him “A&R James”.

In his tweet, LeBron said, “My love for music is INSANE!!! I think I’m going to do a album. Oh no I won’t be rapping or anything like that. I’m not crazy, I know what I’m great at, but I tell you one thing I do have. So many friends that can. Thinking out loud.”

LeBron’s status in hip-hop is undisputed – with the athlete labelled a “hip-hop historian” and many rappers such as Drake, Meek Mill, Kendrick Lamar and more using James as a focus group for their unreleased music.

LeBron has also “leaked” snippets of highly anticipated tracks via his Instagram Live sessions which attract hundreds of thousands of views.

The basketball player acted as A&R for 2 Chainz’ Rap or Go to the League album and he has also tried his hand on the mic too – his freestyle over Jay-Z and Rick Ross’ “fuckwithmeuknowigotit” is especially memorable.
