National Security Ministry to host National Day of Remembrance on Sunday

The Ministry of National Security will host a small-scale National Day of Remembrance (Memorial Day) Wreath Laying Ceremony on Sunday November 08, 2020 at Memorial Park, Frederick Street, Port of Spain.

This year’s event will be in keeping with the Public Health [2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV)] Regulations and therefore will not be open to members of the public.
The National Day of Remembrance is observed annually in memory of those who served and who fell in the World Wars of 1914–1918 and 1939–1945.

The President of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; the Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; the Honourable the Chief Justice; the Minister of National Security; and other officials will be in attendance.

Remembrance Day/Memorial Day is commemorated every year on November 11 and marks the end of World War I in 1918. Remembrance Sunday is observed on the second Sunday in November, which is nearest to November 11.
