The Ministry of Health, via its Chemistry, Food and Drug Division advises the population of the voluntary recall of the Artificial Tears Lubricant Eye Drops due to possible contamination.
The Ministry stated that the recalled Artificial Tears Lubricant Eye Drops are distributed by EzriCare and Delsam Pharma.
While these products are not registered for use in Trinidad and Tobago, out of an abundance of caution, the Ministry is advising persons who may be in possession of any of the recalled formulas to discontinue use immediately and to return the products to the place of purchase where possible.
To date, there have been over fifty reports of adverse events including eye infections and permanent loss of vision.
The Ministry of Health says it will continue to monitor the situation and advise the population as necessary.
